URSULINE LINKS

Registered Charity, number 1160034

Ursuline Links is a volunteer service programme established in 2010 by the Ursuline Sisters based in the UK. It aims to give young people and adults the opportunity to give their help freely to people in need through service projects in the UK and abroad. We aim to be as inclusive as possible and those volunteering in it and helped by it come from all ethnicities and religious backgrounds.

In line with this mission Ursuline Links seeks to involve volunteers to give their time, skills and talents to help people in need by:

Running Day Camp projects for disadvantaged children

Working with the marginalised, the poor, the homeless

Supporting the elderly

Giving practical help to those in need

We aim to make a real difference in the lives of young people and adults who volunteer to be part of Ursuline Links programmes and the communities they serve and to encourage them to be responsible citizens who are willing to volunteer for the good of society. This will enable them to use their talents & skills for the benefit of others and to help them to grow in confidence and social awareness by

Running Day Camp projects for under-privileged children in areas of social deprivation – two weeks of Day Camps, one in Forest Gate, London and the other in Thanet, Kent.

Social Justice : Volunteers work with the marginalised through helping at food banks, homes for the elderly, refugee centres and soup kitchens in the East End of London

Providing service opportunities for young people in New Orleans on the Home-rebuilding Project for the poor whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina

Service projects in India (2014) and South Africa (2015)

All Sixth Form students in Ursuline Schools in the UK are given the opportunity to apply to volunteer on one of the Ursuline Links projects, which take place mainly during the summer school holiday period. There are currently 16 young adults, (mainly Ursuline Past Pupils who are now studying at University) and 32 A Level students working on Ursuline Links projects for Summer 2016.
