Compulsory for all students entering 6th form who did not achieve 4 or above in Maths at GCSE.

This subject is taught to all students who have not already achieved a grade 4 in Maths from their previous GCSE examinations.
All pupils are taught through grades 1-5 so that it matches with the current GCSE criteria for the foundation tier and these are broken into different subject areas, which are:
The pupils are mostly taught through working on examination questions so that they are consistently working towards their next GCSE examination.
For this Mathematics qualification the pupils will be assessed entirely via 3 separate examination papers that are all of equal weighting (33.3% each, Duration 1h 30 mins, 1 x Non Calculator & 2 x Calculator papers).
Pupils are generally entered for the foundation tier to gain their grade 4 in GCSE mathematics.
These examination papers can assess any area of Mathematics in any of the three papers within the specification of the qualification; there is no particular set pattern.
