Course Overview
| This subject is taught to all students who have not already achieved a grade 4 in Maths from their previous GCSE examinations. All pupils are taught through grades 1-5 so that it matches with the current GCSE criteria for the foundation tier and these are broken into different subject areas, which are:
The pupils are mostly taught through working on examination questions so that they are consistently working towards their next GCSE examination.

Assessment | For this Mathematics qualification the pupils will be assessed entirely via 3 separate examination papers that are all of equal weighting (33.3% each, Duration 1h 30 mins, 1 x Non Calculator & 2 x Calculator papers). Pupils are generally entered for the foundation tier to gain their grade 4 in GCSE mathematics. These examination papers can assess any area of Mathematics in any of the three papers within the specification of the qualification; there is no particular set pattern. |
