Course Overview




This Level 2 qualification is for people who wish to expand their knowledge of the Health and Social Care industry.


A health and social care qualification can open the door to many different job roles including care worker, youth worker, and health care assistant or in an organisation working with children and adults who have special needs. The qualification can also help you to progress on to university.


The care industry is rapidly changing, with new government initiatives giving it a higher profile. These developments mean that it is more important than ever that well-qualified, experienced people enter the industry to meet this demand.


On this course you will study:

Year 10

Unit 1:

Human Lifespan Development ( 1 hr exam)

Unit 2:

Health and Social Care Values* (practical demonstration and coursework)


Year 11

Unit 5: Promoting Health and Wellbeing (coursework)

Unit 6:The Impact of  nutrition on health and wellbeing (coursework)


*Vocational placement must be selected for year 10 work placement week to demonstrate care values (practical observation unit 2)

Help organise and be part of the pensioner Christmas party to demonstrate Care values (practical observation Unit 2)

Visit to a university day for Health and Social Care courses.
